Prof. Giovanni Quaranta is a scholar of territorial development, rural innovation, sustainability, and European project design.
His work has focused on place-based development, rural resilience, land degradation, community capacity, and the transformation of marginal and inland territories in Southern Italy and the Mediterranean.
Through Fondazione MEDES, he has supported applied territorial projects connecting universities, local authorities, communities, and sustainable development practice.
Within Wise Town, he contributes to the operational development of the Network, the Lab system, the Accreditation Protocol, and the Wise Town Index.
